Let's catch up, shall we?

I LOVE to sneak up and get a shot of these two sleeping. The flash usually wakes Elliot up, but it's totally worth it!

Just sleepin' with one leg up.

So Lucas just turned FIVE MONTHS and I can't believe what a big boy he is. He just got his first two teeth on Sunday and he has been a drooling maniac as you can see from this picture.

He holds his head up so well and is getting so strong, rolling over both ways and scootin' around.

Love this smile!

I can remember many nights sleeping with foam rollers in my hair. My Mom was big into having our hair look perfect and rollers were our special occasion do. We thought we'd try it out.

Before...

Swim day at Bobba's and Lucas' first swim ever! He was in awe of the water and just couldn't stop staring at it. Towards the end he was flailing his arms, getting water in his eyes and loving every minute of it!

Kennedi, Jaycie and Sydni

Can't you tell he loves it?

This is basically what he did the whole time..

We started to notice that Lucas' head shape was changing a little so we got a referral from our pediatrician to Hanger Technologies and he was fitted for a Cranial Band. He preferred turning his head to the right due to some tight neck muscles so it affected the way his head was growing. It's called plagiocephaly and his is a very mild case. The technology is pretty amazing - instead of using a mold of some sort they do a digital scan of his head to make the helmet.

And this is him today! We think he is even cuter with the helmet if that's even possible. By the way I made the shirt he's wearing. I'm pretty proud of it!

Go Cardinals!

What's your style??

Mine is Cottage Chic. I love the contrast between the light and dark. I also love the neutrals with a pop of color. Comfortable, casual, but not cluttered. Take the quiz at sproost.com to find your own style.

Flavors

Last week we attended the Annual Flavors of Phoenix fundraiser for The American Liver Foundation. As always - delicious food that you just can't get anywhere else (at least all at once anyway)! Here is a pic of Elliot and I with the chef from The Compass Room Hyatt Regency. He was awarded best chef out of ALL of the Hyatt's so we were pretty impressed. We loved everything we tried and I think that it was the best out of the last three years that we've gone. As a bonus I didn't have to speak this year so I just sat back and relaxed! It was a great night!

The Graduate

Jaycie graduated from Kindergarten last week. We are so proud of all the growing and learning she has done over the last nine months. Her school had a wonderful program that made me tear up a liitle! Here she is with one of her good friends Jaxon.

This is right after she gave him an unexpected kiss on the cheek!

Congrats Jayce! We love you!!!

Pizza for Breakfast?

The lines are pretty blurred when it comes to breakfast foods at our house. For example, last night Elliot made some really delicious salsa. When I woke up this morning and opened the fridge I thought, why not? Elliot and Jaycie, however, are on a whole different level. On any given morning they might have something like precooked bacon not fried, cold leftover chicken, or you name it mixed with a can of tuna. This particular morning I found Jaycie on the couch with a cold piece of pizza. Before she knew it I snapped her picture. When she saw the flash she thought for sure that she'd be in trouble for eating in the living room...

But who could be mad at a face like this?

More Lucas & Emersyn

So me and Jaymie (my most fave cousin) try to get together about once a month and have been very successful at it lately. I took the trek out the QC a couple of weeks ago and here are a few snapshots of the little people!

Texas

These pics are a from a few weeks ago, but better late than never! Jaycie had a day off of school making it a long weekend so I decided to take the kids for a road trip.
What could possibly make a 6 year old girl crash with a Ring pop in her mouth?

Movie watchin' and sugar eatin', that's what! Danielle's sister took the girls to pick out any treats they wanted to go along with their movie. Jaycie was in HEAVEN!
Here are Kennedi, Jaycie and Brekin at a yummy Aso-style restaurant we went to.

Bri was my travel partner - couldn't have done it without her (or Tweakie P)!

The girls were so adorable about always wanting to hold Lucas. He was always obliged!

Kyle and Danielle had a neighborhood garage sale while we were there so they could get ready for the big move. The girls sold drinks and cookies. Here are Jaycie and Lucas during a lull...

We went to a great place called Cattlemans. It was a big ranch with all kinds of animals and a delish restaurant. After dinner we walked around and found this old well. Kyle just couldn't pass up a photo opp like this one!

Lucas got lots and lots of smooshy face kisses from Danielle!

Thanks for opening up your home to us. We had an awesome time! Love you guys tons!

Hair Club for babies

Jaycie loves to put her hair on Lucas' head and pretend it's his. We get a pretty big kick out of it too! Bald and beautiful?
Swooping from the left?

Or should I part it on the right?

Splash park

I found myself husband-less last weekend so I decided to get us all out of the house and head to the splash park. Jaycie had a great time running around and getting soaked.

As for Lucas, this was his summer debut... His first exposure to H20 (other than bath water) not to mention his first time sporting his manly trunks. He does look very manly, doesn't he?

Back in his clothes and free to show his softer side.

Fun day! Many more to come!

Toothless!

Jaycie lost her first tooth! Well, actually she pulled it out herself. She just couldn't wait. The one right next to it is as crooked and loose as ever - any day now!

Lucas Update

Our little boy is growing so fast and getting to be soooo much fun. He is grabbing his toes, laughing like crazy and babbling all the time. He loves to be sitting (with help) so he can see what's going on around him. We are so crazy about him and his cheesy little grin!
