Just bein' silly

Ditch Day

I was craving some good ole quality time with my kids (mostly J since she's away from me during the day) so I woke her up and said "No school! We're going to the zoo!" I packed some lunches and we headed out. They both had an awesome time seeing all of the animals and I loved up on them and soaked it all in.

The petting zoo cracked me up! A deer would not, I mean ever, let go of Jaycie's dress. By the time we got out of there, it was drenched in deer spit. She wasn't a fan at all, but didn't want to lose her cool. Lucas tried to ride anything that wasn't too much taller than him. He had no fear!

Watching the penguins get fed

The log ride is pretty new to the zoo and we only had enough cash for one of us to go (plus Lucas wasn't tall enough). Jaycie contemplated going for hours, then finally took the plunge and loved it!

Lunch break

Anniversary Dinner

For our 9th anniversary, which fell on a weekday (and followed a super busy weekend), we decided to take the kids with us on a special date. We went to The Melting Pot and oh my was it delicious.

{ These were waiting for me on the table when we got there }

High School Reunion

Yes ten years have come and gone! Our reunion was last month and it was a blast. It was very well planned out and family friendly! Saturday afternoon was a picnic (that I helped put together) at Cactus Park (my hood). We had lots of great treats, a big slide for the kids, face painting, balloon animals and fun games to keep the kids happy. It was a bit of a busy weekend for us to say the least, but I had a great time seeing old friends and meeting their little ones!

Amber, Annette, Summer and Me. This was us looking "fierce." Not sure I know that face..

Parker, Me and Lucas on the slide. It was such a hit!

Lindsay, Alecia and Me at Macayo's that night.

Garett, Summer, Me and David. We were all supposed to go to Sadie Hawkins one year, but I got grounded (I was kind of a bad kid). We always had the best time together and were quite the foursome!

Pumpkin Carving with Cresaps'

A pumpkin for each of us! It took a while :)

Halloween
My beautiful Indian princess

My little scallywag pirate! I didn't plan the whole pirates and Indians thing, it just happened.

Mermaid Shayne loving on Lucas ♥

running to the next stop

He was so funny to watch! He never accepted candy that was handed to him. He would side swipe their hand and just grab whatever he wanted from their bowl. Nobody minded because he's just so dang cute!

Costume #2 - Tom Cruise from Risky Business. We got sick of his pirate costume (he'd already worn it twice) so we put on his boxer briefs, a church shirt and some white socks for his next reveal.

Costume #2 for Jaycie - ballerina

Everything Under the Sun

I have been the world's worst blogger and I don't know why. Blogging always makes me feel better and I really enjoy doing it. Some of these pictures are from the summer, but better late than never!
Breakfast boy
We got Elliot tickets to the circus for Father's Day and took the Dettmars along with us. I love this shot of Jaycie and Carter holding hands. I didn't even tell them to do it!

Elliot is just as mesmerized as Lucas. I guess I should have included whatever they were watching in the shot, but I just love Lucas' face when he's seeing something new for the first time.

A couple pics from 4th of July: We went up to Prescott for the weekend with the fam and ate caramel corn, played farts in a bottle and enjoyed an amazing display of fireworks. I was kinda sad that he didn't want to snuggle me - he was perfectly content in his Dad's lap making noises and apparently sticking out his tongue.

Is it just me or is she getting more and more beautiful?
Just another PPP lunch date. That's me in there rockin' the airplane. It always scares the bigger kids and I love it.

I'm not sure what he's thinking right now, but I really like this expression

Happiest girl alive award goes to Whitney

We bum off as many free rides as we can on this thing

My Dad was in town for his birthday so we went to celebrate at Mary Coyles. If you've never been you really need to go. We ordered the mountain - and finished every last bite!

Jaxson and Jaycie

The before shot

After

While Stacie, Caitlin and Amelia were here we had the chance to go to the Cardinals Training Camp at NAU. We left REALLY early and it poured the entire day, but it was a perfect day trip for all of us. The Dettmars caravan-ed with us and we had a great time.

Jaycie wanted her hair done just like Caitlin's. They had matching shirts too!

Carter and Jaycie

Two of the best ladies around. I was pretty horrible about taking pics while they were here and it makes me sad.

His favorite place to be.

Caitlin and Lucas

Crashed the second we got on the road

Caitlin woke up early to do Jaycie's hair for the 1st day of school. Jaycie was SO proud of her waves!

The finished product!

Wearing Jaycie's princess hat while watching the garbage truck collect the trash. A good mix of masculine and feminine.

New undies from Netty. He wears them all the time around the house (over his diaper) cuz I just think it's adorable!

Elliot's Grandpa passed away recently so all the family was able to come and be together. We had a great time seeing them and we miss them already!

Sporting Aunt Stephanie's cowgirl boots. He walked like Forrest Gump because he couldn't bend his knees!

Prescott Getaway

We have really been making the most of this summer with the kids. Swimming, play dates, movies, library excursions and vacations have kept us quite busy and the little ones perfectly entertained. I love summer because I can be with the kids all the time without strict schedules or responsibilities. Here are some pics of our (first) trip to the cabin (4th of July pics to follow).
The best girl I've ever known:
The love of my life:

Eating a pizza in town square... It was a good thing I checked the weather when I packed because it was FREEZING COLD!

I love taking pictures of him with his Dad. There is something so sweet about that big hand holding those tiny fingers.

He dried the slide with his butt so Jaycie could go down. What a gentleman!

Gettin' ready for bed

We have to have a fire every night according to Jaycie

On our way to slide rock we found the cutest cafe and enjoyed a delicious lunch in their garden. It was very picturesque!

The squishiest face around!
