Prescott Getaway

We have really been making the most of this summer with the kids. Swimming, play dates, movies, library excursions and vacations have kept us quite busy and the little ones perfectly entertained. I love summer because I can be with the kids all the time without strict schedules or responsibilities. Here are some pics of our (first) trip to the cabin (4th of July pics to follow).
The best girl I've ever known:
The love of my life:

Eating a pizza in town square... It was a good thing I checked the weather when I packed because it was FREEZING COLD!

I love taking pictures of him with his Dad. There is something so sweet about that big hand holding those tiny fingers.

He dried the slide with his butt so Jaycie could go down. What a gentleman!

Gettin' ready for bed

We have to have a fire every night according to Jaycie

On our way to slide rock we found the cutest cafe and enjoyed a delicious lunch in their garden. It was very picturesque!

The squishiest face around!

Swimmin Lessons!

Lucas has been taking lessons for a couple weeks now and up until today HATED EVERY SECOND! He would cry when it was his turn and then as soon as it was over he would snuggle the heck out of me (which I love). But today he found the joy in swimming. Therefore, I will not post previous video of his crying because it will only break your hearts (trust me). Soon to come: the new and improved and totally capable of swimming - Lucas! Anyway, here he is resting up afterwards and enjoying an otter pop.

His partner in crime!

I could not love him more! (Or her)

This one took me a while..

We have already made a couple of trips to the splash park and let me tell you - Lucas is a fan of all things water. He can't get enough! This is going to be a great summer.

Checking out the ducks..
Whitney. Enjoying a cookie. In a bikini. What could be better?

cousins!

Jaycie with a mustache!
My Mother's Day breakfast in bed. I am so spoiled!

Just asking for kisses

Cute sleepy time pictures:

Holding Bear Bear so tight. She says it helps her to not have bad dreams.

I love how she is snuggled into his side

FLAVORS OF PHOENIX
Me and my mom with our wonderful date Zach. He even opened my car door for me.. Well, actually the door was on child lock but I know he would've done it anyway.

Course 1 Tuna Carpaccio with blood orange (see photo - YUM)

Course 2 Gnocchi with spring vegetables and parmesan

Course 3 Roasted scallops, arugula and olive oil

Course 4 Veal tenderloin with morels and foie gras

Course 5 Myriad of desserts
He's the greatest.

Thursday was a half day and THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! If you can't tell, I'm super excited about that. No more waking up to an alarm, packing lunches, setting out clothes, rushing to find matching socks, or arguing with Jaycie about whether she can or cannot wear her cowgirl boots. We went to PPP to clebrate and have lunch with Ab and the kids. Here is Lucas in all of his handsomeness...

Messy face Whitney

A sort of sly half smile to appease the picture taker

Elliot took Jaycie to the bookstore to find the perfect book to start off the summer. I found her outside on her beanbag reading it! I LOVE that she enjoys reading {just like her mother}.

When I get out the camera to capture a sweet little moment (we have so many) this is what he does. "You wanna see somethin' great, I'll show you somethin' great!"

Pump It Up

Jaycie's friend Carter invited us to his 6th b-day bash at Pump It Up. We had a great time and Lucas absolutely L-O-V-E-D it.

You should see the other guy

Lucas had his first injury last night. He tripped on the step on his way in the door and landed right on his face.

See his swollen top lip? So kissable!

A better angle.

Just look at this face!

This sweet boy melts my heart on an hourly basis. He is so funny and active and snuggly! We have fun all day long together and then when Jaycie gets home he belongs to her. He follows her around and she uses him as an excuse to not do her homework or clean her room. "But Mom, I'm playing with Lucas!"

Don't mind the toplessness. I walked in on this the other night and Lucas was just laying there with her arm around him. I squealed with delight and luckily he was still there when I returned with the camera. Seriously, is there anything better?
