Rodeo Day

Jaycie had Rodeo Day at school last Friday and they made their very own cowboy hats and ponies to ride. This pic is of her and Sunshine (that's what she named it) galloping away!

I got kicked out.

Today when I picked Jaycie up from school she said "Mom I have some bad news." "What is it?" I said. Very seriously she responded, "I got kicked out." A smile immediately formed on my face as she handed me a sheet of paper. She went on to explain that she got too excited in Music and yelled. The paper was a disciplinary questionnaire that she had filled out for me to sign:

1) What did you do?

Ixidid in Myosic dont yel (Excited in Music don't yell)

2) What is the rule?

Dont yel

3) What happens when you break the rule?

Git cict awt (Get kicked out)

Seeing as how this is a first offense (and hardly an offense at all) I will sign the paper and just laugh about the whole thing. After all, Music is exciting and sometimes a kid just has to yell!

Prescott

We just got home from an amazing trip to Prescott. We were only there for a few days but it was incredibly relaxing. There's just something about being away from home that is absolutely lovely! Our first day there I packed us all a yummy lunch and we went for a hike. Lucas slept through the whole thing!
Jaycie and Elliot did a lot of exploring together and went places that me and Lucas could not (well, according to her).

Snuggled up by the fire.

Lucas is smiling pretty much on demand these days. We don't even have to work for it, he just sees a human and grins! It's so adorable. He had a first on this trip - he LAUGHED! It was too cute. Jaycie was kind of teasing him with his binkie around his mouth and he was loving it so much that he let out a little giggle! Music to my ears and something I will never forget.

Jaycie was the fire-keeper. Always adding pine needles and giving it some air. We had a fire every night and I think it was the highlight for her. I guess fire-keepers don't wear pants!

Ready for the day!

You can't have a fire without S'mores!!! And you can't enjoy one with both eyes open!

Bathed and ready for sleeps!

"Don't bother me, I'm on vacation!"

Stoppin' for lunch at the waterhole.

Feeling Grateful...

I am overcome with the amount of love that I feel for this precious boy. I KNOW that he was meant to come into our home. Tonight we made homemade cheeseburgers and fries and had a picnic on the back patio. It was one of those perfect nights when I felt truly content with all that I have. I love my family and feel so incredibly blessed to be married to such a wonderful man and to be able to raise such amazing kids. I have pure joy in my life and I love all of the people who are a part of it. This beautiful little man will always know how he got here and the great sacrifice that was made so that he could have the best life possible. We love you Stacie!

Photos of 3 Men & a Little Lady - I LOVE that movie!

Jaycie had a green eggs and ham breakfast at school yesterday morning and to my delight we made it a family affair. She wore her "Caitlin" shirt and we listened as the Cat in the Hat (the librarian in a costume) read favorite Dr. Seuss stories. When we were getting ready that morning Elliot asked her if she was excited to eat green eggs to which she replied "Dad, they're not really green!" She came to me for the truth and she wasn't very fond of the idea. I don't think many people are.
Jaxson holding Lucas.

Jaycie just had to jump in. She got to sleep over at Jaxson's and did not feel the need to get out of her jammies! By the look on his face I think Lucas feels like three's a crowd.

Jaycie with a front butt! It's just a beach ball but it made me laugh.

When I see these two together I make such a fuss. I go crazy with the baby talk and comments like
"There's my two favorite boys"
"Mama's handsome gentlemen"
"Ooh I love my men"
"You're just a Daddy's boy"
"I LOVE my Daddy"
I know it's weird but I can't help myself!

Spring, I mean Summer Training Game

Man was it hot yesterday! Ab scored some tickets to the Rangers vs. Royals spring training game so I surprised Jaycie and took her out of school early. We hardly watched an inch of the game, but we had a great time eating, drinking and playing in the grass. Here's a shot of me and Mya - she could've used some shades!

Poor Lucas, it was so bright! Don't worry, this photo opp was his only exposure to the sun that day. I love how Jaycie is snuggling up to him in this pic. I threw on Jaxson's baseball cap after awhile to avoid extreme sunburn (now it's only on my arms and chest). It was too small and only fit the very top of my head, but comfort over beauty, right?

Cutie patootie!
We all took a turn with the hat, well everyone except for the hat's owner Jaxson - oops!

Action shots of the kids rolling down the hill. The guy to the right without a shirt on was encouraging them to be a little more adventurous hence Jaycie's somersaults.

This was Lucas most of the game. I covered him with a light blankie and you can't see it but he actually has an ice pack underneath on his back for temperature control. He seemed to enjoy it!

Cousins make great friends!

Thanks Ab!

"Did you know Jungle Jim's are made of metal?"

Elliot picked Jaycie up from school today and there was something different about her when I saw her. Can you guess what it is?? She was covering her mouth up and then finally showed me her big huge fat lip! She explained to me that she fell on the Jungle Jim, how she didn't even cry and then asked, "Mom, did you know Jungle Jim's are made of metal?" It was too adorable and after I asked the how's and when's I just couldn't get over how cute she looked. Well, I admit the following is not her most flattering, but from where I stand... total knockout!

Not as obvious smiling, but I had to follow that pic with a little better one!

One boy... One girl

Our lives have been pretty busy, chaotic and wonderful lately. I apologize for holding out on all of you Lucas fans out there ( I know, y'all are Jaycie fans as well)! So here they are... drumroll... the two cutest kids in the world (it's okay if you think your own are cuter :) !

We have started a weekly date night with Jaycie and last night was my night to take her out on the town. It was really special to spend some one on one time with just us girls while Elliot and Lucas had some male bonding time at home. We went out for ice cream and she is always drawn towards the most unnatural looking flavors - this one was called Krazy Kolors!

We went to paint pottery together and this was the finished product. She was very proud of her polka dotted puppy!

This picture was supposed to go first - as you can see it's the "before shot".

Jaycie gets a little something special every time she reaches a new level of reading in her kindergarten class. She got juju berry with any toppings she chose. Her eyes were way bigger than her tummy and she couldn't even finish it! Don't worry, Mom came to the rescue!

Another out of order pic, but you get the idea. I love her concentrated look - usually the tongue comes out!

Picture perfect! It almost looks professional!

He is starting to really enjoy bath time. I have a LOT of these kind of pictures but they're not as G rated!

"Aah, this is the life!"

Me and Ab took the babes to an infant massage class. It was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed it. These guys are going to be great buddies. I posed Whitney with her arm around Lucas and they loved every minute of it!

What he does best!
